“To lose weight you need to be eating in a caloric deficit”
“To lose weight you need to count calories and macros and eat less calories than you are burning”
The truth is if you DO eat more calories than you are burning you can put on weight BUT there is SO much more to weight loss and weight gain than CALORIES!!!
If you are not eating high quality food items, sleeping well and reducing your stress levels, you are going to have a hard time losing weight.
This is the TRUTH about weight loss.
Food quality DOES matter.
What you put into your body has a huge impact on how you feel, your energy, your cravings, your mood, etc!
Here is the issue with eating less calories:
-You are not providing your body with the fuel it needs (aka your workouts will suffer, you will have less energy and this will also impact your mood)
-You are probably choosing low carb or low calorie options to meet your daily needs
-Your metabolism begins to slow down
-Your hormones may not be at an optimal place
-YOU ARE NOT FOCUSING ON YOUR INNER HEALTH & IT IS NOT SUSTAINABLE!
Eating 20g of rice cakes versus eating 20g of sweet potatoes is NOT THE SAME because not all calories are creating equally.
Food QUALITY does matter.
Making healthier choices one step at a time and doing the best you can with this aspect is something you can continue to do on a day-day basis for the rest of your life! Counting calories is not.
